What is a paper-based MAP tray?
It is a paper-based food tray intended to work with a suitable barrier and lidding film in a modified-atmosphere packaging process. The finished pack is a system: tray geometry, seal surface, film, gas mix, food and cold chain must be validated together.
Can a MAP tray guarantee shelf life?
No shelf-life claim follows from the tray material alone. Shelf life depends on the food, hygiene, gas mixture, oxygen barrier, seal quality and storage temperature. Validate the filled pack with the intended product and distribution conditions before setting a date.
Will it run on my sealing machine?
